The story behind our brand, Toys for Africa.

Building Memories, One Toy at a Time

At Toys for Africa, we’re not just two friends running a business—we’re two lifelong pals living out a dream that started back in primary school. It all began in grade 7, when Julian and Phillip joined forces for Entrepreneurial Day with a stall called "Toys from Earth." What started as a fun school project turned out to be the spark for something much bigger.

Fast forward to today: Julian is now running his own full-time digital agency, while Phillip is managing a thriving tractor shop, where he buys, sells, and services real tractors and farming equipment. Somewhere along the way, Phillip decided to take on a new venture—reviving the very toys we loved as kids. That’s when Julian, with his passion for online business and fond memories of these tough metal farm toys, jumped in to help bring it all online.

Now, we each run our own parts of the business—Julian runs the website, while Phillip manages the toy factory—while we work as closely as ever, like the team we’ve always been. We may not have a stake in each other's businesses, but we’re fully invested in bringing joy to the next generation of kids with the same durable, hand-crafted toys that shaped our childhood.

It’s funny to think that what started with a school project and a shared love of toys has come full circle. And if you’re a parent, we hope you can picture your kids playing with our tough metal farm tractors, just like we did back then. Because for us, it's not just about toys—it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime.
